Schön (und) ein bisschen absurd ist der Kurzfilm, den Karl Lagerfeld da produziert hat. In „Reincarnation“ spielt Pharrell Williams einen Liftboy und den Kaiser Franz Joseph von Österreich, das britische Model Cara Delevingne ein Dienstmädchen und die Kaiserin Sissi und die amerikanische Schauspielerin und Tochter von Charlie Chaplin, Géraldine Chaplin spielt einen Hotelgast. Der Film entstand anlässlich der „Métiers d’Art“-Show für CHANEL in Salzburg.
Salzburg ist auch das Thema der Kleidung. Eine traditionsreiche Kleider-Kultur genauso wie das Haus Chanel. Die Message des Songs „CC The World“: Schönheit ist nicht schwer zu definieren, sie ist in jedem von uns. Das beweist auch Géraldine zum Schluss indem sie den Lifttboy, der von allen Gästen sonst ignoriert wird, auf seine Jacke anspricht. Schöne Dinge sind schön. Egal wer sie trägt.
“Reincarnation” is the new short film created and directed by Karl Lagerfeld to accompany the CHANEL Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection shown on December 2nd, 2014 in Salzburg. This new short film was the perfect opportunity for Karl Lagerfeld to develop an artistic collaboration with Pharrell Williams, a close friend of the House and personal friend of the designer. In fact, the artist composed and wrote the lyrics to „CC The World,“ the original soundtrack for Reincarnation, and he also plays one of the lead roles and will be, along with Cara Delevingne, the face of the upcoming campaign of the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection.
