„West-Berlin“ – Interview with electronic music pioneer NHOAH

After many years as a producer, working with different artists, NHOAH comes up with his debut album this year on april the 13th.

First I met NHOAH in Vienna at the „Waves Vienna Festival“ in october 2017. We had a chat and he told me, that he’s not sure, if he will stay in Berlin or not. He was upset and he told me this just in the first minutes we met.

Coming back to Berlin I stayed in touch with his manager and buddy Staab. I knew, that they got a lot to tell. They have always been a part of he creative and music scene in Berlin even before the Wall felt down. Staab told me that the name of the album NHOAH was working on is „West Berlin“. I knew, that this is something I would like to talk about in an interview. A personal story about Berlin in the early days and now.

About NHOAH

NHOAH, a skilled producer, engineer and drummer in his own right, boasts a back catalogue which includes work alongside the producers of The Eurythmics , Depeche Mode, and Bronski Beat ’s Larry Steinbachek . His previous album Tangowerk was nominated for the German Record Critics‘ Award Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik . His extensive list of achievements includes work with Jayne County and Romy Haag , arranging and composing for David Hasselhoff, as well as contributing to material by contemporary French rock-star M . His own band Peacock Palace , whose song ‘Like A Snake’ sold more than 2 million copies, was the first German band to have their video on heavy rotation on MTV London . Alongside this, his work writing and producing for German pop-rock band MIA , earned him several Gold awards .
